Preschool Social Skills Program
Ages 4 - 6
Our preschool social skills program is an evidence-based group designed to help young children develop the foundational abilities needed to make and keep friends.
The program focuses on skills such as entering play, sharing, turn taking, understanding social cues, and building positive peer interactions. Children participate in 16 weekly 90 minute group sessions where social skills are introduced through structured lessons, puppet demonstrations, role play, and guided practice with peers. Between sessions, families complete brief practice activities to support skill development in everyday settings.
Parent participation is an essential part of the program. Caregivers attend weekly educational sessions to learn how to coach and reinforce targeted social skills at home. Through structured instruction, video demonstrations, and guided discussion, parents gain practical strategies to support their child’s social growth. Families receive weekly practice assignments and individualized feedback to promote meaningful progress and skill generalization.
This integrated child and parent model helps ensure that new social skills are supported consistently across home, school, and community environments.
